Take it to the Street by Stanton Moore
Take it to the Street is a study in New Orleans Street Beats and Second-Line Rhythms as applied to funk. This book is very well put together and the companion
CD is GREAT! I recommend this book to every drummer. The feel of second line drumming is one that that if studied, will improve ALL other styles. Stanton's touch and
approach to the music is masterful and should be emulated by all drummers. It's not just about "beatin' the skins", it's about bringing out the music. Two big thumbs up!

Afro-Cuban Coordination for Drumset by Maria Martinez
Maria Martinez is a great teacher and writer. This book is a great study in the style of Afro Cuban drumset rhythm. The accompanying CD features
very nice arrangements and pattern examples of the style, both with the drum pattern lightly in the background and without. You must have an intermediate to
advanced understanding of reading and coordination to fully comprehend the value of this book. This book IS a great resource and can have applications outside of the
style if the student wants to get creative. Retail Price Book/CD: $14.95 For more info or to buy this book, visit:
